Solar Scooter ready

4 Students from the University of Bolzano in Northern Italy completed their 4 month thesis work at Aurore last week.

Alessandra, Celeste, Thomas and Stefan have been working on the design and construction of a electric 3-wheeler, which had its 'maiden'-ride on July 17th. The so-called "Solar Scooter" will eventually get a canopy of solar panels to recharge its 68 Ah battery-pack.

Especially conceived for elderly Aurovillians, the 3-wheeled Solar Scooter is much more stable than a 2 wheeler and can handle the rough roads of Auroville.
A single charge gives the Solar Scooter a range of about 45 km, with a maximum speed of 32 km/h.

If you are interested to work on the further development of the Solar Scooter, contact us.
